How to Get to Cheviot
Car
Cheviot is 114 Km north of Christchurch and 72 km south of Kaikoura on State Highway 1.
Train
Tranz Scenic – New Zealand’s railway network leaves Christchurch at 7.00 am and reaches Cheviot’s Mina Station at 8.45 am. The train will only stop at Mina Station if Tranz Scenic has been contacted the day before.
From Picton, the train arrives at Mina Station at 4.35 pm. Again, this stop must be prearranged.

Bus
Several bus companies operate between Christchurch and Picton everyday and coincide with InterIslander ferry sailings.
All buses need to be pre-booked and depart from Cheviot Tea Rooms.
InterCity Coachlines depart Cheviot for Christchurch and Picton twice a day.

Kaikoura Door to Door offers a daily service between Kaikoura and Christchurch during the week, leaving Cheviot at 8.30 am, and returning to Cheviot at 5.30 pm. Call 021 319511.
