Producing some of the country’s best cuts and award winning sausages is the local butchery, Harris Meats, which supplies restaurants and supermarkets throughout Canterbury. Its flagship butchery is on Cheviot’s main street, and a popular stop for passing traffic and locals.
There are two boutique vineyards making the most of the districts dry summers and ideal soils.
