From three course meals to café fare and good old fashioned kiwi takeaways; Cheviot has the culinary spectrum well covered. Making the most of the district’s magnificent farm produce, many of Cheviot’s eateries feature fresh lamb, beef and venison.

Amongst the five different cafes in Cheviot, you’ll find excellent coffee, a great range of food, from homemade to gourmet, and the traditional meat pie! Take your pick!

Producing some of the country’s best cuts and award winning sausages is the local butchery, Harris Meats, which supplies restaurants and supermarkets throughout Canterbury. Its flagship butchery is on Cheviot’s main street, and a popular stop for passing traffic and locals.

There are two boutique vineyards making the most of the districts dry summers and ideal soils.
